UUM ONLINE: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) continues to solidify its influence on the global stage, having been ranked among the 401-500 best universities in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025.
This outstanding achievement positions UUM as the third-best university in Malaysia, standing out among both public and private institutions.
This success places UUM alongside three leading research universities in the country, proving that UUM not only competes but also excels among the best.
UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan expressed his gratitude to the entire UUM denizens for their hard work in maintaining the institution’s position in the THE World University Rankings 2025.
“This achievement is not just an individual success but a collective victory for all of us, from the grassroots to the leadership level.
“This is the result of UUM’s commitment to strengthening its role as an educational institution that contributes positively to the academic community,” he proudly stated.
He also expressed hope that UUM denizens will continue to be committed and work hard to improve the university’s standing not only on the global stage but also within the country.
The THE World University Rankings, released annually, involves over 1,904 universities worldwide, evaluated according to 18 indicators categorised into five main aspects namely teaching, research environment, research quality, industry relations, and international outlook.
Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan emphasised that UUM’s improvement in the citation impact indicator reflects the quality of publications that are cited among academia, especially in the field of management.
This success further strengthens UUM’s position as an active university committed to quality research and innovation that holds significance on the international stage.
