SINTOK: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) has once again received the prestigious Highest Honours Chapter award from Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) for the 2023/2024 academic year.
This marks the sixth consecutive year that the Universiti Utara Malaysia BGS Chapter has earned this esteemed recognition, distinguishing itself among over 615 global chapters at AACSB-accredited institutions across 38 countries.
Each year, BGS celebrates its most outstanding chapters through a tiered recognition system, highlighting the best of the best. The Chapter Honour Roll programme awards active collegiate chapters that effectively engage their members, allowing them to fully benefit from the opportunities BGS provides.
Chapters are recognised at three levels: Highest Honours, High Honours, and Honours. Chapters excelling in these categories become eligible for society-wide awards and receive recognition throughout the year at various events, including the annual AACSB ICAM Conference. These honours are conferred upon chapters that demonstrate exceptional involvement in both chapter and Society activities, reflecting a deep commitment to Beta Gamma Sigma’s mission.
BGS, the International Honour Society for business students, is committed to fostering academic excellence, nurturing leadership, and advancing its core values. Its mission focuses on four key objectives: promoting academic excellence at AACSB-accredited institutions, cultivating leadership among its members, instilling a lifelong commitment to honour, integrity, and service, and connecting members to opportunities that enhance their professional careers. – Dr. Nor Atikah Shafai
