UUM ONLINE: The Global Conference on Educational Research and Practices (GOCERP) 2024 reflects a new era in education through mechanisms of presentation and publication.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan stated that the involvement of the Consortium of Asia Pacific Education Universities (CAPEU) plays a crucial role in fostering various partnerships for this seminar.
“This seminar provides a platform for researchers, educational scientists, and academicians to exchange ideas and share research findings, hence reflecting a new era in education through presentation and publication mechanisms,” he said.
He explained that the event aims to highlight best practices, research outcomes, and advancements in both technological and social initiatives while addressing the challenges of the new educational era.
“I am confident that UUM’s academic staff active participation, international participations and postgraduate students will enhance the potential to produce high quality proceedings and indexed journal publications.
“This seminar will create opportunities for experts from various institutions to share their research and experiences, contributing to the global knowledge base, and improving the quality of education,” he said during the official opening of GOCERP 2024, held at EDC-UUM.
He expressed hope that the seminar would expand networks and strengthen relationships among experts domestically and internationally, further enhancing the education system, particularly in the areas of teaching and learning.
He also expressed his deepest appreciation to all participants, recognising that their participation not only demonstrates support but also marks the beginning of ongoing collaboration and strategic partnership in research and publication.
“On behalf of UUM, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication to making this seminar a resounding success,” he said.
The seminar aptly themed ‘Future Proof-Education: Empowering Minds for Tomorrow’ is organised by UUM’s School of Education (SoE) in collaboration with the Consortium of Asia-Pacific Education Universities (CAPEU), Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr Hamka (UHAMKA) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA).
The two-day seminar features keynote speakers such as the President of CAPEU, Prof. Dato’ Dr Md Amin Md Taff; Chairman of the UUM Professorial Council, Prof. Dr Rosna Awang Hashim; President of the Philippine Normal University (PNU), Philippines, Dr Bert J. Tuga; Rector of UHAMKA, Indonesia Prof. Dr H. Gunawan Suryoputro; and Deputy Rector III UMSIDA, Indonesia, Dr Nurdyansyah.
