UUM ONLINE: “You assume the role of a young ambassador for Malaysia promoting our nation’s unique culture and noble values to the international community.

“Use this experience as an opportunity to build a global network that will benefit your career and future.”

This was the message from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan to approximately 30 students who will be taking part in a mobility programme to Australia on 18 August.

Reflecting on his ten years as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and his experience leading educational tours abroad, he noted that students are afforded the opportunity to acquire a multitude of knowledge, ranging from producing the working paper to site visits.

He expressed optimism that the students will gain positive outcomes from the programme and emphasised that they would establish networks, with each students having their own key performance indicators (KPIs).

“Each student should establish connections with at least five students there, and these connections should continue beyond the programme, whether through WhatsApp or social media.

“I am confident that if the interaction continues, we will always learn from experiences and developments. Who knows, one day they might work in Australia; from my experience, every educational tours often result in someone finding employment in the country they visited.

“Interestingly, they receive these valuable opportunities when they actively participate in Q&A sessions, which attract international agencies that become interested in their personalities and offer job opportunities,” he said during the official launch of the Intercontinental Leadership Voyage to Australia at the SOIS Auditorium

He expressed hope that the participants will portray the highest standards of representation for UUM and Malaysia, serving as exemplary young ambassadors on the global stage.

“Congratulations to everyone who has made this programme a success. May this mobility programme be the beginning of even greater achievements and may all the students successfully complete the programme and have a safe passage to and back,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Programme Director, Ms. Ardina Putri Syafeera Mohd Amy Azhar stated that the programme aims to prepare young leaders from diverse backgrounds to share ideas and experiences in an inspiring and conducive environment.
