The UUM delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Mohd Azizuddin Mohd Sani, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International). He was accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arpah Abu Bakar, Director of the Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC).
The ASEAN University Network Rectors' Meeting is an annual event that serves as a platform for member universities to engage in discussions regarding current issues pertaining to higher education as well as to strengthen partnership among ASEAN member universities. UUM takes pride in its status as one of the five universities in Malaysia that have been designated as AUN core member universities.
One of the main agenda is to coordinate and organise activities for the upcoming years in order to improve international partnerships in the development of students and institutions. The ASEAN University Network (AUN) Committee has approved UUM as one of the hosts for AUN Summer Camp 2025.
This event will give students from across the ASEAN region a chance to engage in a dynamic exchange of academic and cultural experiences, thus fostering regional cooperation and understanding.
As a host, UUM will have the opportunity to exhibit Malaysia's unique attractions and the opportunities available at UUM.
To further contribute to AUN, Dr. Mohd Azizuddin has agreed to serve as a panellist for the upcoming AUN IRO+3 meeting. This event is another platform that brings together university senior management responsible for internationalisation.
This participation highlights UUM’s increasing influence and commitment to academic excellence and international collaboration.
UUM remains committed to ensuring its participation in AUN activities, consistent with its goal of establishing robust partnerships within the ASEAN educational community and increasing global visibility.
