UUM ONLINE: The School of Education (SOE) at Universiti Utara Malaysia received a visit from the Mataram State Islamic University (UIN), Indonesia. This visit marks a significant milestone in fostering international cooperation through an array of collaborative initiatives.
The joint education programme between the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTK), Mataram UIN, and SOE was held in the Saujana Meeting Room, SOE. It was organised by the International Networking and Ranking/Mobility/MOU/MOA/LOI Committee of SOE.
The delegation from FTK, Mataram UIN, led by its Deputy Dean of Academics, Prof. Dr Saparudin, began their tour by visiting the Welcome Centre, the Management Museum, and U-Assist, before proceeding to SOE.
The Dean of SOE, Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohamad Khairi Othman, warmly welcomed the arrival of the delegation along with the deputy deans and members of the International Network and Ranking/Mobility/MOU/MOA/LOI Committee of SOE.
During the meeting, Dr Mohamad Khairi provided an overview of the organisation and introduced the key office bearers at SOE, together with details on its vision, mission, academic programmes offered, and the publication journal under the aegis of SOE.
Likewise, Dr Saparudin also provided detailed information on Mataram UIN’s academic programmes and international initiatives. The two institutions then engaged in a discussion about potential future collaborations, which encompassed staff mobility and research partnerships.
In the afternoon, a knowledge sharing discourse session was organised, which included presenters from both participating universities.
The main presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr Fauziah Abdul Rahim from SOE, UUM, which was followed by Prof. Dr Saparudin from FTK, Mataram UIN.
The discourse also involved the sharing of research input from academic staff as well as students from SOE, UUM and FTK, Mataram UIN.
