Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) welcomed a distinguished visiting lecturer from the European Union (EU) under the prestigious Erasmus+ teaching mobility programme to foster international academic collaboration. Assoc. Prof. Dr Dana Alexandru, an esteemed scholar from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania, visited UUM from 29 April 2024 until 3 May 2024, imparting her expertise in International Affairs. Dr. Shazwanis Shukri from the School of International Studies (SOIS) hosted her throughout the program.

During her visit, Dr. Dana engaged in interactive lectures and seminars with students and academics. Throughout the program, she delivered a lecture on the ‘European Union's Governance and Institutions’ for undergraduate students. She concluded her visit with a guest lecture entitled ‘European Union’s Relations beyond the Neighbourhood’ on her final day at UUM.

The Erasmus+ teaching mobility programme, funded by the EU, aims to promote international cooperation and enhance the quality of higher education worldwide. Dr. Dana’s visit underscores the program's effectiveness in facilitating knowledge transfer and fostering academic excellence.
