UUM ONLINE: Pattani, 30 April – “This programme serves as a platform to unite in the spirit of camaraderie and companionship that transcends borders and cultures,” said the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan at the UUM Executives Networking with Southern Thailand Alumni 2024 event.

According to him, as alumni, they should utilise their influence as a tool to bring about positive change on society, no matter where they are.

He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to honour UUM alumni in southern Thailand and further strengthen cooperation between UUM and the Pattani Governor as well as UUM strategic partners in southern Thailand.

“The UUM Alumni Centre has successfully gathered UUM alumni from southern Thailand with the hope of fostering networks and gathering valuable feedback and suggestions from the alumni on enhancing UUM’s relations with international alumni.

“It serves as a platform for UUM to showcase its latest programmes on the international stage with the support of alumni serving as UUM ambassadors.

“For everyone’s information, Thailand ranks second in terms of the highest number of UUM graduates, after Indonesia, where the number of alumni in the Pattani Region alone is 97, followed by Yala (55), Narathiwat (42), Songkhla (163) and Satun with 14, making the total number of UUM alumni in Thailand 547,” he said.

Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan also conveyed his congratulations to nine UUM alumni from southern Thailand who were appointed by the UUM Alumni Centre to serve as volunteers and liaisons between alumni from southern Thailand and UUM.

He also expressed hope that the meeting would also furnish the latest information and updates regarding the success status of the alumni on the international stage based on UUM’s rankings in Asia and the world.

At the same event, Prof. Dr Ram Al Jaffri Saad delivered a presentation on the accomplishments of UUM, including its rankings in the world and Asia.

Present at the event was the Governor of Pattani Governor, Her Excellency Pateemoh Sadeeyamu, who enlivened the event alongside the alumni.
