A Tashkent International University of Financial Management and Technology (TIFT) delegation visited UUM on 5 November 2023. Assoc Prof. Azizkhon Nodirov, the first Vice-Rector, Zarifjon Khatamov, the Manager for International Cooperation; and Beksulton Tulanboyev, the Head of the Department of Innovation and Scientific Research, represented TIFT.

A meeting occurred at the Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC), marking a significant exchange of knowledge and ideas between the two esteemed institutions. The delegation from TIFT arrived with a mission to explore potential collaborative opportunities in law, government, and international studies.

The discussions encompassed various topics, including academic programs, research initiatives, and student and faculty exchange opportunities. Both parties expressed a strong desire to strengthen ties and foster a mutually beneficial partnership that would contribute to advancing higher education in Uzbekistan and Malaysia. The School of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management (STHEM) hosted the delegation that looks for collaborations in tourism's academic programme. Other schools, including representatives from the School of Business Management, School of Computing, and School of Quantitative Sciences, joined the meeting.
