Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) organised the Executive Training Program for the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia (APTISI)- "Towards a World Class University" began on 31 October until 3 November 2023 at EDC Hotel, UUM. The event brought together rectors, professors, and senior officials from the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia (APTISI). The program aims to empower university leaders with the knowledge and skills to transform their institutions into world-class universities, focusing on global rankings like QS and Time Higher Education (THE).
Twenty-two APTISI participants, representing various Indonesian institutions, joined the program. The event aims to enhance their roles in transforming education and human resource development in Indonesia and achieve global recognition. The program includes deepening understanding of global ranking criteria, formulating strategies for world-class university status, and emphasising the importance of international accreditation. It offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn, network, and gather the motivation needed to advance in the global education landscape. The collaboration between APTISI and UUM is expected to yield substantial benefits for Indonesian education.
UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Fo'ad Sakdan officiated the training event and expressed his gratitude to APTISI for choosing UUM as the host, emphasising the strong friendship and collaboration between the two institutions. With the official inauguration of the program, UUM and APTISI aim to strengthen their partnership and contribute to improving education in Indonesia, marking a significant step in a shared journey toward educational excellence.
