On October 12, 2023, the Center for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC) at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) organised a heartwarming "Meet & Greet" session at the PSB Auditorium. This session aimed to warmly welcome inbound exchange students and facilitate a friendly atmosphere for them to get to know the UUM community.

The event was a special occasion as it began an exciting journey for 63 students from various countries, including Indonesia, China, and Japan, who will be studying at UUM for one semester from October through the end of February 2024. The "Meet & Greet" event was designed to foster friendships, cultural exchange, and an instant sense of belonging among these students.

A noteworthy aspect of the event was the presence of Gelegar Carnellian Talenta, a student from Universitas Islam Indonesia. Gelegar, who had previously visited UUM for a day trip last year, was particularly thrilled to join the program. His enthusiasm was palpable as he looked forward to learning more about UUM and local culture. Gelegar will be hosted by School of Creative Industry Management and Performing Arts (SCIMPA) at UUM.

As the semester unfolds, these exchange students will be able to immerse themselves in UUM's academic programs and Malaysian culture. UUM and CIAC extend their best wishes to all the inbound students for a rewarding and culturally enriching semester ahead. The "Meet & Greet" event has set a vibrant tone for the semester, showcasing UUM's commitment to creating a globally diverse and welcoming educational environment.
