UUM ONLINE: Jakarta - In an effort to facilitate the graduation of 5,000 lecturers with doctor of philosophy degrees (PhD) from Universiti Muhammadiyah Indonesia, Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) of the Ministry of Higher Education has established a collaborative committee between universities, with a special emphasis on Malaysian universities.
The Muhammadiyah Cooperation Committee meeting with Malaysian universities took place in Jakarta. The said meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia.
The meeting discussed the collaborative programme and monitoring mechanism, which was also attended by EMGS Chairman, Dr. Abdul Razak Ahmad and Prof. Dr. H Abdul Mu'ti, the General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Central Leadership.
Also present at the collaboration meeting were esteemed individuals, including the Higher Education Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Prof Emeritus Dato' Dr. Morshidi Sirat; Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Prof. Dato' Dr. Md Amin Md Taff; Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Prof. Dato' Ts Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani; Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Prof. Dato' Ts Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Mohd Foad also paid a courtesy call on the Directorate General (DITJEN) of Islamic Education, Indonesian Ministry of Religion (KEMENAG), Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Ali Ramdhani, S.TP, MT, in Jakarta.
"We extend our gratitude to KEMENAG for selecting UUM as one of the universities to receive their sponsorship. Selected Indonesian students will pursue their studies at UUM. These students will be granted full sponsorship by the Indonesian government, facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," said the Vice-Chancellor.
