UUM ONLINE: The Global Strategy and Accreditation (GloSA) Division conducted two series of AACSB sharing sessions for new Schools Management and AACSB Taskforce Team, recently.
Beginning in 2022, the GloSA Division which was previously known as the AACSB Accreditation Unit, UUM COB has been placed under the Center for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC) to assist the university's internationalization agenda through international collaboration with universities that have received AACSB accreditation.
Deputy Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faizuniah Pangil said that GloSA is committed in assisting the Schools so that compliance with AACSB standards can be improved for all programs under AACSB.
“The role of GloSA is very important in ensuring that every standard can be complied in accordance with the quality that has been set. This involves managing data to ensure any requirements and guidelines set by the AACSB are adhered to”, she further added.
Among the contents of the sharing session are related to Faculty and Professional Staff Resources (Standard 3) delivered by Faizuniah, Assurance of Learning (AOL) (Standard 5) by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Asma Lode, and finally Societal Impact (Standard 9) by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norani Nordin.
Nor Asma said, systematic AOL assessments are essential to ensure (1) the achievement of learning outcomes; (2) student progress through appropriate support services and (3) faculty members receive sufficient support to deliver effective teaching sessions.
Meanwhile, Norani emphasized the importance of the Schools to design societal impact projects which will be reported for the next cycle in 2027.
In another session with AACSB Taskforce team, all the speakers had noted the same awareness on AACSB requirements.
The AACSB Taskforce was appointed to represent each Schools involved with AACSB. They play a role as GloSA agent in conveying information and assisting in relation to regarding AACSB compliance at their respective Schools.
