AIMS Summer Intensive Programme: Future of Higher Learning from Student Perspectives
We are excited to announce the details of the AIMS Summer Intensive Programme for students from 1-8 August 2024 on the theme: Future of Higher Learning from Student Perspectives, which will be held in conjunction with the 18th Annual Review Meeting in Hiroshima, Japan.
For this special one-week programme, 20 students (undergraduate/graduate) from 10 AIMS member countries and 10 Hiroshima University students will form a strong network as they work together to explore ideas and brainstorm solutions to create a more student-centered and empowering higher education environment for future generations. We will also hear their presentations at the 18th Annual Review Meeting on 8 August 2024.
JASSO Scholarship of 80,000 Yen is available for 16 students, to cover accommodation, meals, and local transportation, but would not be enough to cover airfare, travel insurance and visa (if required).
As we would like to have this event as a regional collaboration and gain valuable feedback from students on their views on the future of higher learning, we would like to invite each AIMS member government to consider nominating 2 students and another 2 students on the waitlist from your country to join this programme. We would also like to request Member Countries and Universities to consider supporting your students’ participation financially, either fully or partially.
We have attached the suggested nomination process for your discussion with your AIMS member universities. The Call for Applications and Poster are attached and in the following shared folder for sharing with your students.
As a separate event, if there are AIMS students and alumni interested to participate in the 18th Annual Review Meeting on 7-8 August 2024, on a self-funding basis, and learn about AIMS and work with peers to voice and shape AIMS, please let the AIMS Secretariat know the details as soon as possible so we can issue invitation letters accordingly for their registration by 31 May 2024. Member governments and member universities may also consider supporting their participation.
If you have any questions, please contact Hiroshima University at
