CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS AND COOPERATION
The Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC) rejoices in welcoming you to Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). CIAC functions as an intermediary for matters such as international collaborations and partnerships, visits by foreign scholars and delegations, programs and events.
CIAC also assists in the management of international staff and student welfare, activities and societies. In short, CIAC is responsible for ensuring that our international partners, staff and students are well taken care of. The modus operandi of CIAC is to support UUM's broad and ever-expanding international agenda and to facilitate the internationalization of all university activities. CIAC will play its strategic role as an efficient one-stop centre to facilitate, coordinate and organize all activities related to the effective internationalization of UUM.In terms of structure and organization, CIAC is divided into three main sections:
1. Administrative and Finance Unit
2. Internationalization Unit
3. Counseling and Welfare Unit
Administrative and Finance Unit
Focusing on administrative and financial activities such as staff training, records, assets, purchasing, hosting UUM visitors, overseeing Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) and Agreements (MoA) with partner institutions, and dealing with visiting professors and lecturers, student orientation, health insurance, and visas.
Focusing on the latest trends in the internationalization of higher education, including student mobility and exchange, international collaboration, credit transfer, dual degree programs, sponsorship for staff and students, joint research projects, memberships in international bodies and associations, and inter-governmental initiatives.
